The Orissa Administrative Tribunal was set up during 1986 for quick redressal of grievances of State Government employees regarding their service matters.

Besides the Principal Bench at Bhubaneswar, one regular Bench of O.A.T. at Cuttack and two Circuit Benches at Sambalpur and Berhampur are functioning. The Tribunal deals with original applications, transferred applications and miscellaneous petitions.
